A gunshot that occurred in the downtown area of Winston-Salem early in the morning resulted in the death of one individual. Just after 2 in the morning on Monday, police began receiving calls reporting shots fired on Burke Street, as reported by the police.
The police have verified that one individual was killed in the incident, but they have not given any other information as they continue their investigation. They have closed Burke Street at First Street and anticipate that the restriction will remain in place for several hours while they collect evidence.
