South Jersey Rest Stop Shooting Victim Identified As AG

The male civilian’s identity has not been revealed to the public by the AG’s office. The brief news statement that the agency sent regarding the incident included who shot him and what precipitated the encounter.

This is some of our most recent coverage if you’re interested in local crime:

The review is being carried out by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability within the AG’s office by a state directive issued in 2019 that mandates an independent investigation of criminal cases involving the use of force by police and deaths that occur while individuals are held in custody.

Because the investigation is still ongoing, the AG’s office has declined to divulge any additional details. Some weeks after the original notification of the study, the agency will generally provide further information about such contacts, including the officers’ identity.
