This morning, early in the morning, a terrible vehicle accident on Long Island claimed the life of an off-duty NYPD officer. Around 2:00 a.m. today( 27 Feb 2023), an officer and another guy were driving recklessly on Carmen Avenue in Westbury in a black 1994 Honda Accord. The cop, whose name had not been made public then, was supposedly racing with the other man.
While passing another vehicle, they could not maintain control and crashed into a tree after jumping a curb. The cop was pronounced dead at the hospital after being found dead in the twisted vehicle wreckage in which he was confined.

The other passenger was thrown from the car, flying fifty feet before landing on the sidewalk. He is said to have had “severe head injuries” and is currently in serious condition. Due to the extensive damage, the authorities could not determine who was operating the vehicle.
