David Fincher has confirmed, once more, that the third season of his show Mindhunter on Netflix will not be produced, despite the fact that fans have been speculating about it for years.
Netflix made the announcement in the year 2020 that the show wouldn’t be canceled, but rather put on hold indefinitely because Fincher was working on other projects. Nevertheless, in a recent interview with the French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, Fincher made it clear that Season 3 of Mindhunter will not be produced, and he cited the show’s expensive production costs as the reason.
He said- (As Reported bt IGN)
“I’m very proud of the first two seasons. But it’s a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn’t attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment [for Season 3],”
“I don’t blame them, they took risks to get the show off the ground, gave me the means to do Mank the way I wanted to do it, and they allowed me to venture down new paths with The Killer. It’s a blessing to be able to work with people who are capable of boldness. The day our desires are not the same, we have to be honest about parting ways.”
