Do you want to know how to activate Competitive Play in Overwatch 2? When they launch Overwatch 2 on October 4th or later, new players must go through what Blizzard refers to as a “guided First Time User Experience.”
With drip-fed access to game modes and Overwatch 2 characters, this longer tutorial—which is referred to as a gradual onboarding process—is intended to familiarize users with the game. Overwatch 2 competitive play isn’t instantly accessible to new players as it is a part of the FTUE.

Anyone who has Competitively unlocked prior to the October 4th release date will have access to Competitive in Overwatch 2, according to Blizzard. This only applies to accounts created on or after that date.
