Myiesha Stewart, a detective with the Greenville Police Department, was shot and killed while responding to a call, as reported by Mississippi’s commissioner of public safety, Sean Tindell. Both Mayor Errick D. Simmons and Police Chief Marcus Turner Sr. met with Stewart’s loved ones, as stated in a statement released by the city. During “this very difficult time,” Simmons has asked for the public’s prayers and support.
