Happy, Lacey Purciful. She was eager to start eating her pizza as soon as it arrived. After Lacey unlocked the front door to her Texas home, Max, the family dog, ran out into the yard to meet the DoorDash driver, Corey. But Corey was in a very different frame of mind. He felt extremely let down by Lacey’s “just” $5 tip on her $20 order.
He believed he was entitled to more and wanted the women to understand this. He was unaware that Lacey had a security camera and the ability to post inappropriate behavior to her TikTok account (@ladybug3660), which is precisely what happened. Driver for DoorDash Fired After He Curses At Woman Over $5 Tip
Upon receiving a $5 gratuity on a $20 transaction, a DoorDash delivery driver was fired for swearing at the customer. The pizza delivery driver looked to be bringing her a pizza box from a red DoorDash bag in a video recorded by TikTok user Lacey Purciful. Purciful is not visible in the video.
The driver says: “I just want to say it’s a nice house for a $5 tip.” Purciful can be heard firing back: “You’re welcome,” to which responds: “F*ck you,” while walking away. Purciful emphasized in the comments that she spoke with DoorDash, and the driver was subsequently dismissed.

A spokeswoman for Doordash referred to the driver’s actions as unacceptable in a statement to the local media station WFAA regarding the incident:
“Respectfully asking for a tip is acceptable but abusing or harassing someone is never acceptable, Our rules exist to help ensure everyone who uses our platform – Dashers, customers, merchants – have a safe and enjoyable experience.”
In recent months, tipping behavior in the US has gained a lot of attention on TikTok. Others have defended service industry workers who frequently rely on tips due to poor earnings, despite other people saying it’s too excessive. Some companies still pay their employees a “tipped wage,” which is a reduced minimum wage that accounts for tips.
In May, Alex Bitter of Insider revealed that some DoorDash drivers accepted orders and requested more tips before delivering goods. This is due to the fact that some Dashers make as low as $2.75 each order without tips, according to a worker who spoke to Bitter about the matter. Dashers make $25 an hour on average.

Purciful received an outpouring of support from comments across her posts, with one person saying:
“5$ is a great tip. You didn’t have to tip at all!! We always can decline!!”
According to the Daily Mail, after The Purcifuls aggravated the issue, DoorDash launched an inquiry, fired Corey, and increased the coupon by $75.
