At WWE Summerslam 2023, Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar by pinfall. The beginning of the intensely captivating match was reminiscent of Lesnar’s brutal destruction of John Cena in 2014, yet The American Nightmare managed to prevail.
As the sixth person to defeat The Beast Incarnate at least twice, Rhodes used three Cross Rhodes to inflict the latter with a rare clean loss.

Cody Ends Brock Lesnar With Three Cross Rhodes
At WWE SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes pushed one another to the limit. The two WWE Superstars competed in their rubber match, each of whom has won a match prior.
The Beast struck The American Nightmare with two F5s from ringside. Rhodes hit the commentators’ table and broke it with one of those F5s. After exchanging offensive moves, Cody regained control by hitting Lesnar with the steel stairs and finishing with a Disaster Kick.

When Cody Rhodes hit Brock Lesnar with three Cross Rhodes to secure the victory, the match was over. After the fight, while Rhodes was enjoying himself, Lesnar glared at him, removed his gloves, and ran over to him. Before exiting the ring at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar gave Cody a hug and held up his arm to the cheers of the audience.
