Officers said that Senator Cruz was on a float in the 2400 block of Smith Street when the parade-goer threw the beer can, which hit the senator in the chest/neck area.
Cruz didn’t get any medical help, but police said that the suspect, who they named as Joseph Halm Arcidiacono, was caught and charged with aggravated assault. Documents from the court show that his bond was set at $40,000 and that he is no longer in jail.
