The “Baki” series is among the most revered in the genre of martial arts anime. Even if it isn’t based in reality, witnessing two trained fighters go at each other is guaranteed to get your heart racing. The “Baki” series, shown on Netflix between 2018 and 2020, was a huge hit. It was an adaptation of the second half of the original “Baki the Grappler” manga and started up where the 2001 anime left off.
Netflix’s “Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre” series premiered on September 30. “Baki Hanma” is an adaptation of the third volume of Keisuke Itagaki’s legendary combat manga series, and it follows in the footsteps of the first two volumes. Season 1 of “Baki Hanma” followed Baki as he developed into a formidable fighter in preparation for a showdown with his father, Yuujiro, the world’s strongest man.
Baki encounters a number of formidable foes along the road. Fans are eager for a second season of “Baki” due to the sudden release of all 12 episodes. Fortunately, the shocking conclusion of Season 1 all but confirms this, setting up a showdown with an opponent unlike any Baki has faced before. Baki Hanma Season 2 Release Date
Netflix has not yet confirmed that “Baki Hanma” will return for a second season. Though it wouldn’t be the first time Netflix canceled a program that finished on a cliffhanger, the fact that Season 1 finishes on a cliffhanger leading to the next part of the manga’s tale is presumably indicating that the streaming giant intends to invest in a follow-up season.
However, the series continued success on the platform is a good sign of a possible comeback. For three seasons, Netflix’s original “Baki” series was available, so it seems unlikely that the streaming service will stop cashing in on the show’s success just because “Baki Hanma” has been launched. The release date for Season 2 of “Baki Hanma” is, however, unclear.
Season 2 was expected to premiere in 2022 like most seasonal shows, however, delays are not uncommon in anime. After all, animation takes a long time, and if something goes wrong, the wait for viewers might be even longer. There’s still little chance that “Baki Hanma” will go on a lengthy break. Until then, it’s important for “Baki” supporters to maintain a level of patient optimism about the show’s future.

Baki Hanma Season 2 Cast
TMS Entertainment, who created both “Baki” and “Baki Hanma,” also recast the vast majority of the original cast in the latter. As a result, Nobunaga Shimazaki will reprise his role as Baki in Season 2 of “Baki Hanma,” alongside Hochu Otsuka’s Biscuit Oliva and Akio Otsuka’s Yuujiro Hanma, among others. Netflix lists the actors that voiced the characters in the original Japanese version of “Baki Hanma,” but it doesn’t do the same for any of its dubs.
However, Anime News Network reports that Troy Baker provides the English dub’s narration, with James Mathis III and Kirk Thorton providing the voices of Biscuit Oliva and Yuujiro Hanma, respectively. The English adaptation has kept the same cast as the original Japanese series and “Baki Hanma,” so this isn’t a huge shock. Whenever Season 2 of “Baki Hanma” finally arrives, you can count on hearing these same voices again.
Baki Hanma Season 2 Plot
Season 1 of “Baki Hanma” ended triumphantly when Baki defeated Biscuit Oliva, the strongest man in the United States. Baki’s “devil” father, Yuujiro Hanma, respects just one other fighter, and that fighter recognized Baki for his victory, which led to his release from Arizona State Prison. As the showdown with his son approaches, it appears that even Yuujiro is interested in some degree. He thinks it will be the toughest fight he’s ever been in.
However, Baki still faces challenges beyond just Yuujiro. A caveman was discovered in excellent condition, trapped in ice, deep under the Earth’s belly, underneath a nuclear waste site in Colorado. According to the Baki wiki, this is Pickle, a very powerful and vicious missing link in human evolution. Following Pickle’s fights against a wide range of formidable foes, including (of course) Baki, the series continues its adaptation of the manga’s “Wildman War — Pickle Wars Saga.”
