This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is without a well-known face.
Since he is still suffering from blood clots in his leg and lungs that forced him to the hospital earlier this month, Al Roker, who has appeared on Today along the famous parade route for 27 years, will not be attending this year’s celebration.
Thursday’s 96th annual parade was broadcast on NBC, and Roker’s colleagues’ morning show hosts texted him good vibes throughout the broadcast.

Al Roker, a coworker on the Today show and a close friend of ours, has been our go-to person for the previous 27 parades, according to Hoda Kotb. “Al is, as many of you have heard, making a full recovery from a recent medical problem.
