Dawn Staley, a legend in the WNBA, was named the 2023 Naismith Coach of the Year on Wednesday. This is the third time in her career that she has won this award. Staley led South Carolina to the national championship last year, and the undefeated Gamecocks are two wins away from another title this year.
Staley was named the Naismith National Player of the Year twice at Virginia in the early 1990s. There have been rumors about her marriage status based on her personal life. Lisa Boyer, a South Carolina assistant coach, has been said to be the head coach’s wife. But there hasn’t been any proof that they are married yet.
Sources says that Staley is not married and that there have only been rumors that she is dating Boyer. The head coach doesn’t like talking about her personal life, so she has chosen not to talk about her relationships.
Dawn Staley tweeted that the two were acting like an old married couple, which started the rumors. There hasn’t been any proof that they are together. They could just be working together, or they could be close friends.
Staley tweeted –
“Boyer!! We are that old married couple who started young and will grow old together. You put the ride and die in the RIDE and DIE! Proud of you Boyer. Thanks for sacrificing your career to help to me serve our teams, program, university and state. What a ride?!”
