The rumors that Jack Dorsey would return to Twitter as CEO were put to rest when he started his service. There were rumors that Dorsey, who resigned as Twitter CEO in November 2021, might return to the company due to his friendship with Elon Musk, Twitter’s current CEO.

Nonetheless, they appear to be more productive as rivals than allies. The beta version of Dorsey’s Bluesky app, reminiscent of Twitter’s blue aesthetic, is now accessible on the Apple App Store.

Tech Crunch reports that the beta version of the new micro-blogging platform Bluesky can be downloaded via the App Store with an invitation. With each passing day, the app probably gets closer to being released to the general public. In October of last year, Bluesky published a blog post explaining the protocol that drives the app.

    The blog read-

Bluesky was created to build a social protocol. In the spring, we released “ADX,” the very first iteration of the protocol. Over the summer, we improved and simplified ADX’s design, and today we’re sharing a preview of what’s to come.”

Simply put, a protocol is an agreed-upon collection of guidelines for how different pieces of hardware or software should interact. The protocol in this situation would outline the rules for communication amongst the various Bluesky-based social networking sites.

ADX is Bluesky’s initial version of their protocol, released in the spring. The first version was perhaps more complicated and less sophisticated than the development team had planned. As a result, they spent the summer working to streamline and enhance the ADX architecture.

Bluesky, an app released on February 17 with over 2,000 installs since its beta release, was analyzed by app analytics business data.ai. In terms of design, it’s a lot like Twitter’s interface. Comparatively, Twitter’s “What’s happening?” replaces Bluesky’s “What’s up?”

Bluesky’s blocking, sharing, and muting features are nearly identical to Twitter’s. Users, however, do not now have the option of adding others to the list. Users are also provided with “who to follow” options. Like Twitter, there is a “Notifications” tab to see new likes, reposts, followers, and replies. No DMs were found, as stated in the report.
