It can now be said. The year 2023 is designated as bob’s year. chin-length bobs are having a moment right now, and props go to Hailey Bieber (see: choppy chin-grazing bob) and Lizzo’s version of the trend with her shaggy, peekaboo blonde hair. Sarah Michelle Gellar is the most recent well-known person to have their career cut short.
Nonetheless, there is a sense of recognition surrounding this new do. When SMG introduced the chin-length bob on season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it is abundantly clear that she was years ahead of her time. And now, some 25 years later, and after taking a decade break from the industry, SMG is once again styling the short bob hairstyle.
The gorgeous new look that the actress achieved by getting a severe chop was introduced on Instagram in a post that was accompanied with an emoji of a haircut. Previously, the actress had a shoulder-skimming cut that was her defining hairstyle. SMG presented her new look with a haircut that featured a center part and short strands that were fashioned with textured ends. She also kept her platinum blonde color.
She smiled as she posed in front of a rack of garments, and she accessorized her new hairstyle with a bold red lip color and sparkly silver eye shadow.
Fans flocked to the comments section, proclaiming their adoration for every millimeter of the haircut, with one adding, “SMG cut her hair, so I cut my hair.” Another wrote, “You may want to add ‘thee’ to your bio .”
The news of the firing comes one month after Gellar made her return to the entertainment industry with the premiere of her new program, Wolf Pack, which airs on Paramount+ and which she also executive produces and stars in. She was presented with the Icon Award at SCAD TVfest, which is SCAD Atlanta’s annual television festival for rising talent. The ceremony took place just the week before.
Gellar is thankful for the great legacy she has left behind after working in this industry for three decades.
After decades in the business, Gellar is grateful for the incredible mark she has left. “As an actor, you hope to have one character that people remember; that has an impact. Every Halloween, I get pictures of people dressing up as multiple characters that I’ve played,”
She told us-
“To me, that’s a true mark [of success], and there’s no award that can ever top that. I see Buffy, I see Cruel [Intentions], I see Daphne or The Grudge, so I really feel so fortunate.”
