Palmer, a member of the musical group The Dresden Dolls, and Gaiman, an author best known for writing The Sandman and Coraline, have disclosed that they will no longer be collaborating together. The pair released a joint statement announcing their decision to end their marriage after 11 years of marriage.

The well-known author Neil Gaiman and the performance artist and vocalist Amanda Palmer made the news of their split public on November 4, 2022. They Had Been Together For 11 Years
Gaiman and Palmer got married in a low-key wedding in January 2011, after they had been seeing each other for a total of two years. However, Wired states that the couple had already held an unofficial wedding ceremony in New Orleans in November of 2010. Amanda is suspected of having been the mastermind behind the surprise wedding that took place during Gaiman’s 50th birthday celebrations at the time.
As early as June 2009, rumors began to circulate that the two were dating. However, it wasn’t until January 2010 that the couple confirmed their engagement by posting an official statement on Gaiman’s blog. Apparently, the pair discussed their open marriage in a straightforward manner from the very beginning of their relationship, and this practice reportedly maintained throughout the years.
During a conversation with Den Of The Geek, Palmer remarked on the open nature of their connection and stated that despite the fact that it could create “difficulty,” it also had the potential to establish a “very deep tie.”

Gaiman And Palmer First Met In 2008
It is widely believed that the couple began dating during the summer of 2009; however, the truth is that they first crossed paths the previous year.
Email was the medium through which the two initially communicated with one another, as stated in a profile on the two that was run in The Guardian in the year 2013. She expressed her gratitude to Gaiman in her response to his email expressing his admiration for one of Palmer’s tracks. What is to come is a part of history!
Later on, Palmer reached out to Gaiman with the intention of collaborating with him on a project that required Gaiman to write stories to accompany Palmer’s own photographs. The singer also explained how she and Gaiman first became acquainted in an interview that took place in 2019 with The Times.
When she thought back on how she and Gaiman had originally connected, she remembered that they shared a buddy, despite the fact that she did not know too much about Gaiman. Although I was familiar with his name, I had never taken the time to read any of his works. I only recently learned that he was a well-known comedian and goth artist.
She later revealed that despite having entirely unique lives, they became “fascinated” with one another during their time together.
