    Bob Mcgrath Career

    After finishing high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, spending two years in Germany where he was in charge of scheduling and conducting concerts for the Seventh Army Symphony Orchestra. McGrath received his Master of Music in Voice from New York University’s Manhattan School of Music in 1959.

    McGrath worked with Mitch Miller and was the featured tenor on their NBC-TV singalong series Sing Along with Mitch during its whole four-season run from 1960 to 1964. His voice can be heard on the Walt Kelly CD titled Songs of the Pogo.

    McGrath became a successful recording artist in Japan around the middle of the 1960s after he released many albums of Japanese-sung renditions of Irish and other folk tunes and ballads.
