An 11-month-old infant and a 3-year-old kid were stabbed to death in New York City, according to authorities.
The two boys were discovered late Saturday at an apartment complex in the Bronx with “several stab wounds” to their necks and torsos, according to the New York Police Department. After being transferred to a hospital, the kids passed away.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to NYPD Deputy Chief Louis Deceglie, police responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person.
According to a statement from the NYPD, after being taken into custody by police, a woman was transported in an ambulance to a hospital for assessment. According to city documents, the apartment complex is designated as a family refuge.
According to Deceglie, a family acquaintance informed police upon arrival at the scene of the initial 911 call that the woman’s children were being cared for by their father. Police declined to provide any additional information when CNN enquired about the sequence of 911 calls and the officers’ subsequent actions.
Police got another emergency call about 30 minutes later. The same area received a second 911 call reporting two unresponsive babies who were not breathing, according to Deceglie.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to authorities, and the boys’ 22-year-old mother is being held. The father of the boys is not being held by authorities.
Police stated that the mother has not been charged or detained, and she has not been publicly identified as a suspect.
