(WOOD) — TALLMADGE CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. Deputies say that a three-car accident near Grand Rapids hurt five people.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said it happened on Lake Michigan Drive near Sessions Drive just before 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputies said a 2013 Chevrolet Impala was going east on Lake Michigan Drive when it quickly changed lanes to avoid someone in front of it slowing down to turn. When the Impala changed lanes, it hit another car going east. Deputies said that the Impala then lost control and went into the other lane, hitting a westbound GMC pickup truck.
The sheriff’s office says that at least one child and at least four adults were hurt in the crash and taken to hospitals. Their wounds range from not too bad to very bad.

After the accident, Lake Michigan Drive near Sessions Drive was closed for a few hours, but it is now open again.
