After a collision close to Yelm, one person has died. This occurred on Yelm Highway shortly before 7:00 a.m. Someone who lives nearby tells FOX 13’s Dan Griffin that accidents like this occur frequently.

When they eventually collided, they were both travelling south on I-75 in 2017 Subarus and tractor trailers pulling dump trailers.

Following the initial incident, both cars continued on, cutting through the centre median railing and onto the northbound lanes, where they collided multiple times with a 2022 Chevrolet SUV and a 2021 Ram 3500 truck towing a gooseneck trailer.

Before coming to a stop, the SUV and tractor-trailer were completely in flames.

All three of the drivers—of the pickup, the SUV, and the tractor-trailer—were pronounced dead at the site. The Subaru’s driver was brought to a hospital.

I-75’s entire northbound lanes have reopened. According to the troopers, the collision was reported just before 1:15 p.m. at milepost 337 close to State Road 44.

According to the investigators, the interstate was covered with a significant amount of “debris, automobiles, and charred items.”

While detectives surveyed the site and gathered evidence, the northbound lanes were shut down.

A lane heading north has been reopened. Before the road has completely reopened, motorists are recommended to take other routes.
