After a shooting on Saturday morning at Methodist Dallas Medical Center left two hospital employees dead, Dallas police placed a suspect in custody.

According to a news statement from the hospital on Saturday afternoon, Methodist Health System police, Dallas police, and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the gunshot in the 1400 block of North Beckley Avenue around 11 a.m.

The two healthcare workers perished after a gunman started shooting. The suspect, Nestor Hernandez, 30, was hurt when a Methodist officer discharged his gun at him, according to the hospital. Hernandez was transferred to a different nearby hospital after being jailed.

Hernandez is charged with a capital offence. Hernandez had an active ankle monitor and was currently on parole for aggravated robbery, according to the police.
