A 15-year-old boy was identified as the younger brother of one of the victims in the Raleigh, North Carolina shooting that resulted in five deaths and two injuries.

WRAL reported, based on unnamed sources, that Austin Thompson was responsible for the deadly shooting spree that began in east Raleigh at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

James Roger Thompson, a junior at Knightdale High School and the 15-year-brother, old’s was previously identified as the youngest of the five victims.

The other victims were identified as off-duty officer Gabriel Torres, 29, Nicole Conners, 52, Mary Marshall, 35, and Susan Karnatz, 49, by Raleigh Police Chief Estelle Patterson.

Officer Clark’s K-9 partner Casey was injured in the incident and was taken to the hospital for treatment before being released.

Marcille Gardner, 59, was one of the other survivors, and she was still in very serious condition. The witnesses described the shooter as wearing camouflage clothing, a backpack, and black boots.

After hours of searching, the police finally captured the suspect at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police said he was in critical condition at a hospital on Friday. Requests for comment on the alleged identity of the shooter were not immediately met with a response from the Raleigh Police Department.
