Season 2 of Nichijou is widely considered to be one of the best anime shows ever made. With its blend of humour and familiarity, the show is guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of its viewers. Whether this is your first time seeing an episode or your hundredth, you are guaranteed to have a good time.

Even though it’s been a while since the final episode of Nichijou aired, the anime is still very popular. Does the second season of Nichijou have any chance of happening? It has a similar aesthetic to Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, with whom it shares both a studio and a focus on the same genre. Nichijou, on the other hand, has nothing to do with fantasy, in contrast to Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

The manga Nichijou, written and illustrated by Keiichi Arawi, served as inspiration for the anime series of the same name. The manga was first serialised in Kadokawa Shoten’s manga magazine Shnen Ace on June 26, 2006, and then continued in Comptiq from March 2007 to July 2008.

Nichijou Storyline

Nichijou describes the routine activities of Tokisadame residents. Yuuko Aoi (the active), Mio Naganohara (the bright and cheerful Mio Naganohara), and Mai Minakami (the quiet and reserved one) are three best friends in high school (the silent, sad Mai Minakami). Three friends and Sakamoto, a talking cat, star in this tale. Others in the story have a tangential connection to the lives of these three pals.

Will There Be Nichijou Season 2?

The 26-episode anime Nichijou aired from April 3 to September 25, 2011. Lantis created it (Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions & Bungou Stray Dogs). The tenth volume of the manga, titled “Shonen Ace,” was released on December 10, 2015, by the Japanese publishing house Kadokawa Shoten.

The anniversary companion book, at 120 pages, was an impressive feat. Arawi also revealed that the serialisation of Nichijou would resume in Monthly Shonen Ace on October 20, 2021. The serialisation of the show continues, but there has been no word about a second season of Nichijou from the creators or the studios.

Even though the final episode of the Nichijou anime aired in 2011, the show continues to be a favourite among viewers who prefer comedic series. Although it is too soon to draw any firm conclusions, Nichijou fans can still hold out hope for a second season.

Nichijou Season 2 Release Date

As stated above, season 2 of Nichijou has not been confirmed. Given the manga’s success and the rumours that it will soon resume serialisation, Nichijou Season 2 is more than likely. For the time being, fans will have to hold tight for the completion of the ongoing stories in Tokisadame.

According to data compiled from more than 250,000 users on MyAnimeList, Nichijou has an impressive average rating of 8.46. In terms of how well-liked it is among anime fans, it comes in at position #167. The show’s popularity hasn’t waned since it was canceled in 2011. This shows that people all over the world are still eager for the second season of Nichijou.

Even more remarkably for an anime that came out only a few years ago, it is ranked 127 on MyAnimeList’s page of the best anime. Accordingly, given the current state of affairs, the likelihood of a Season 2 release of Nichijou occurring before late 2024 or early 2025 is low. Once a firm release date has been set, we will revise this section accordingly.
