Seasonal horror media is flourishing now more than ever. A new season of the chilling crime drama “True Detective” is on the way from Mexican horror filmmaker Issa López, new episodes of “Evil” are premiering every week, and the second volume of “Stranger Things” season 4 will be available to stream on July 1.

True horror fans will always have room for more, so don’t let this glut of impending choices deter you. The uniquely Spanish show “30 Coins” (or “30 monedas”) will return in 2023 with a brand new season. Now that we have some breathing room before the spectacular show wraps up some of the cliffhangers from season 1, it’s time to break down what we can expect from the highly anticipated second season.

When And Where To Watch 30 Coins Season 2

Season 2 of “30 Coins” will premiere on HBO Max in 2023 and will be available for streaming around the world. There has been no announcement of a release date. As the first season debuted on the streaming service on November 29, 2020, and ended on January 17, 2021, we can assume that new episodes will be released weekly. It’s currently unknown if the show will premiere in early or late 2023, or if it will arrive at an entirely different time. If you subscribe to HBO Max, you will be among the first to watch the new season as soon as it premieres.

What We Think 30 Coins Season 2 Will Be About

In “30 Coins,” played by Eduardo Fernández, a Catholic exorcist, ex-con, and skilled boxer named Father Vergara move to the sleepy Spanish town of Pedraza to put his troubled past behind him. But when he gets there, he sees that the town is anything but picturesque.

The town is being held hostage by supernatural occurrences, so he recruits the town’s aloof mayor Paco (Miguel ngel Silvestre), and Elena, the local veterinarian (Megan Montaner), to help him investigate. The silver coin that Father Vergara possesses is rumored to be one of the thirty pieces of silver that Judas Iscariot accepted from the Romans when he betrayed Jesus Christ. Therefore, the 30 Coins allude to something significant in the Bible, and the Holy See of the Vatican may be involved in the plot.

There was a lot of shocking uncertainty about what would happen to the show’s central trio at the end of Season 1, so it’s safe to assume that Season 2 will pick up right where Season 1 left off: Almost everyone in Pedraza has lost their minds, becoming a culpable Elena has been admitted to a hospital in Madrid, and Paco is sitting by her side. Meanwhile, a new danger is brewing. The identity of this threat, it turns out, was just revealed.

30 Coins Season 2 Cast And Crew

Season 2 will feature the return of fan favorites like Eduard Fernández, Megan Montaner, and Miguel ngel Silvestre, as well as the addition of a critically lauded American actor. The role of Christian Barrow has been announced for Paul Giamatti. Barrow is a man of many talents, with interests in science, technology, business, and even science fiction.

The season finale of 30 Coins is WILD, and also available to stream on @hbomax.

In addition, he is a multi-billionaire American at the helm of a secretive group that includes many of the world’s most influential people. Season 2 of “30 Coins” will feature Giamatti as the show’s new antagonist. Spanish actress Najwa Nimri (“Money Heist” on Netflix) is also part of the cast.

However, Spanish director lexes de la Iglesia and his long-time writing partner Jorge Guerricaechevarra are behind “30 Coins,” making it an already exciting project all the more so. This duo first came to prominence with Pedro Almodóvar’s “Mutant Action” (“Acción mutante”) in 1993, and then again with the underground classic “Day of the Beast” (“El da de la Bestia”) in 1995. Their filmography includes both scary and funny movies, as well as dramatic and romantic ones.

Before the new season of “30 Coins” premieres, now is a great time to catch up on the previous season’s worth of episodes written by both De la Iglesia and Guerricaechevarra. Steve Matthews, Miguel Salvat, and Antony Root will serve as executive producers for HBO Max’s “30 Coins,” while De la Iglesia and Carolina Bang will do the same for Pokeepsie Films. Co-productions between Spain, Italy, France, the United States, and the United Kingdom are planned for Season 2.
