Where Is Golyar Now?

Farver got justice, and Golyar was given life in prison for the first-degree murder of Farver. Golyar is currently doing her time in the Nebraska correctional facility, which is a renowned facility for female inmates. It is one of the most secure facilities in the country.

It has 275 beds, and has all levels of security, from low to medium to maximum. Golyar will also serve 18 to 20 years for second-degree arson, which she will be serving after life imprisonment.

The skilled prosecution played a vital role in getting Golyar convicted, and the presentation was so good that even the opposite counsel was impressed. James Martin Davis, the attorney for Golyar said, “In my three or four decades of practicing law it’s one of the most powerful presentations of circumstantial evidence that I’ve ever seen,”.

Since we live in the 21st century, technology affects us in unimaginable ways. The Police did the right thing by directing Facebook to take down all the fake profiles created by Golyar. She used these profiles to stalk all her family members of Farver. Golyar also used these profiles to hide her tracks and mislead the investigation.

Anthony Kava from the office of the Forensic investigation department of Bluffs, Iowa, said, “For me, it’s a reminder to the victim’s family something that’s still out there it’s something that other people can go look at,” Kava further said that, “It’s a remnant of the crime that took place and a reminder and I would just love to see it gone from the internet”.

Golyar, through her attorneys, has filed an appeal in the Nebraska Supreme court, in 2018. Golyar, who is now 45 years old, has pleaded for a fresh trial. It was argued that the evidence, given during the trial of Golyar, but none was relevant to the murder or the arson.

The supreme court of Nebraska found no merit in the arguments given by the attorneys of Golyar, and the appeal was rejected by the court. The court reasoned that, though there was nobody of the victim, the circumstantial evidence was enough to establish the crime of Golyar.

Judge Stephanie Stacy wrote, “A rational fact finder … could conclude the state proved Golyar killed Farver purposely and with deliberate and premeditated malice. There is no merit to Golyar’s claim that the evidence was insufficient to support her conviction for first-degree murder”.

The missing and murder case of cari Farver is one of the most haunting and gruesome murders in modern America. The murder was in the headlines for many days. The plot of the murder was so intriguing that a book is also written about it.
