Ted Lasso’s Season 3 Has Begun Production, With a New Nike Collaboration Teased in the Trailer

Everyone who has watched Ted Lasso has fallen in love with it. There were twenty Emmy nominations for its first season, the most ever for a first-year program, and seven wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series for Jason Sudeikis and Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Matthew McConaughey.

Since season two concluded with a cliffhanger in late fall, Apple TV+ on Twitter announced that season three had officially begun production. Twitter’s “New season, New Kits” tweet hints at new AFC Richmond jerseys for the show’s key soccer team.

Blue Exorcist Season 3 Premiere Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything Else We Know So Far About the Show So Far

Kansas City football coach Ted Laso (Jason Sudeikis) and Beard (Jonah Hill) are hired to coach a soccer team in London (Brendan Hunt). The character of Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, is based on the character from the NBC Sports advertisements, and he has a charmingly silly mustache. The show is both a fish out of water story and an entertaining sports series.

Ted Lasso’s second season left many unanswered questions, laying the groundwork for the show’s third season. Although Roy Kent and Keeley are still dating, their romance appears to be on the fringes, as Keeley declines a trip with Roy to focus on her new career.

A Nigerian restaurant has been purchased by Sam (Toheeb Jimon), and Trent Crimm (James Lance) was fired from The Independent for revealing the identity of an anonymous source. Nate (Nick Mohammed) is now a coach at West Ham United, which is owned by Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) cheating ex-husband, Rupert (Anthony Head).

Phil Dunster, Jeremy Swift, and Cristo Fernandez round out the cast of Ted Lasso. Sudeikis, along with Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Bill Lawrence, conceived the series. For the first two seasons, the show’s popularity topped 509 million people on Apple TV+.

Season three’s plot is still a mystery, but actor Jason Sudeikis has said in interviews that the program was originally intended to last for only three seasons. In light of the series’ enduring popularity, it’s safe to assume that Apple will do all in its power to persuade Sudeikis and company to sign on for yet another Ted Lasso episode.

Ted Lasso’s third season has not been given a release date. Take a look at the following tweet from Apple:
