Vikings: Valhalla is almost here, and Netflix isn’t about to let someone ignore it. It was given a first look and a launch date in November of last year. Last month, a teaser trailer was released. And so now, ahead of its February 25, 2022 release date, Netflix has issued an official trailer for Vikings: Valhalla, providing the longest look at the new series so far.

It introduces the personalities, creates some wagers for the brewery war, and features at least two naked people, one of whom has a bare buttock on screen.

More than a year has gone by since the conclusion of HISTORY and Amazon Prime’s chronological drama series Vikings, and thankfully, the much-anticipated spin-off, Vikings: Valhalla, will be available on Netflix very soon.

Bulgasal Immortal Souls Season 2: Released?

The spin-off, which will be produced purely by Michael Hirst—the brains behind the initial Vikings—is set in the 11th century, more than 100 years after the original show ended, and will pursue the heroic journey of some of the best-known Vikings who survived.

Newsweek has all the details on Vikings: Valhalla, including the release date, cast, recently launched trailer, storyline, and more.

About the Trailer for Vikings: Valhalla

The trailer starts with the Vikings at sea in the middle of a violent storm. There is no inkling of their destination, but it is safe to assume they are on their way to England.

However, it appears that the English will not give up and will struggle with another Viking invasion.

All along the way, viewers are presented to Viking legends such as Leif Erikson, King Canute, and Freydis, who appear to be the show stealers.

The trailer then cuts to innumerable battle scenes and killings, implying that the spin-off will give the initial series a run for its money in aspects of war action.

What Are Vikings: Valhalla About?

Vikings: Valhalla is set in the 11th century and follows the exploits of iconic Viking adventurer Leif Erikson (played by Sam Corlett) and his sibling Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson).

The real Leif and Freydis are thought to be the kids of Erik the Red, who popped up in the first Vikings series. Eric Johnson, a Canadian actor, performed him.

When Will Book Ii Ghost Return in Season 3 of Power Book 2?

The series, like the actual story, will be based in Kattegat, the residence of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his children.

Vikings: Valhalla will also follow the aspirational Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter) and his feud with the English royal family.

The Vikings in England, in specific, will be the concentration of the sequence, as conflicts over their Christian and pagan belief systems rise.

“As conflicts between the Vikings and the English royals achieve a bloody rock bottom, and as the Vikings themselves come into conflict over their clashing Christian and pagan beliefs, these three Vikings embark on an incredible adventure that will consider taking them all over the seas and through fields of battle, from Kattegat to England and even further than, as they struggle to survive and glory,” the original plot summary teases.

Who Is in the Cast of Vikings: Valhalla?

Sam Corlett, from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, plays iconic Norse explorer Leif Erikson.

Leif Erikson had been an Icelandic Norse adventurer who is credited with being the first European to put a step on American soil.

In Vikings: Valhalla, Swedish model and actor Fredia Gustavvson plays Leif’s sister, Freydis Eriksdotter.

Leo Suter, from Victoria, plays Harald Sigurdsson, the true King of Norway from 1046 to 1066.

Jóhannes Jóhannesson from The Letter for the King plays Olaf Haraldson, Harald’s older brother, and Bradley Freegard from Keeping Faith appears to be playing King Canute, the King of Denmark and a brutal Viking leader.

Emma of Normandy is played by German actress Laura Berlin, and Earl Godwin, the King of England’s Chief Advisor, is played by David Oakes from The White Queen.

Caroline Henderson as Jarl Haakon, Louis Davison as Prince Edmund, Bosco Hogan as King Aethelred II, Soren Pilmark as King Sqeyn Forkbeard, Pollyanna McIntosh as Queen Aelfgifu, and Asbjrn Krogh Nissen as Jarl Kare also appear in Vikings: Valhalla.

Sadly, it appears unlikely that any of the original series cast members will show up.

Even so, Vikings creator Michael Hirst is recognized to bring back characters in plot twists, so that some familiar faces could appear at a certain point.
