Fortnite is all set for hosting a short movie festival on Party Royale screen.
The festival, dubbed as the Short Nite, will stream an array of animated movies from international writers and directors. The series, of around 30 mins in length, would run repeatedly in battle multiplayer title for 24 straight hours from 20 February at 2pm ET.
Among the twelve animated short movies is Rich Webber-directed Bench, which is presently listed for one BAFTA award. Lynx & Birds from BlueZoo Animation Studio, the movie Catastrophe from Jamille van Wijngaarden based on a curious cat and pet birdie and MariekeBlaauw, JorisOprins and Job Roggeveen directed A Single Life will be screened.
One does not require a movie ticket for attending and the gamers can join anytime time. Movies that have dialogue would be shown with subtitles.
Fortnite’s Party Royale mode is basically an experimental area where gamers can attend concerts as well as enjoy mini-games. Post hosting an in-game concert for Travis Scott last year that received 12.3mn concurrent views, Fortnite has welcomed a series of live concert featuring a Christopher Nolan-themed movie night, a Halloween concert from J. Balvin, artists like Dominic Fike and Anderson .Paak, among a few other events.
