Daniel Suarez one of 16 drivers involved in crash at Daytona 500

Daniel Suarez, who’s a part of Trackhouse Racing and drives the no. 99 Chevrolet car, was among the 16 drivers to be involved in the crash on Sunday at Daytona 500.

The car crash took place14 laps in the race and was triggered by driver AricAlmirola, who banged into Alex Bowman. Almirola was pushed too hard by Christopher Bell close to the field’s front side and tried avoiding a slide; however, ended up hitting Bowman.

The other drivers who were involved in the crash include Kurt Busch, Erik Jones, Martin Truex Jr., Ryan Blaney, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman and William Byron.

Post the crash, heavy rain and lightning stopped the ‘The Great American Race’ and the fans ran into the concourse for seeking shelter.

Popular music artist Pitbull is one of the newest team owners of NASCAR. He bought in Trackhouse Racing that placed Suarez in the racing field.

In a statement, Pitbull said that since now there is no touring taking place, he is going to be present in most of the race.

NBA legend Michael Jordan and Pitbull both are the two latest celebrities to enter NASCAR ownership in 2021.

Notably, Trackhouse Racing was discovered by ex-driver Justin Marks late last year.
